Who may say what

Under Art. 8 of Reg. 1169/2011 the operator under whose name the food is marketed, or the EU importer, answers for the food information; the State General Laboratory of the Ministry of Health is Cyprus's official national control centre for foodstuffs and cosmetics, and no local registration mark could be confirmed.

Reg. 1169/2011 Art. 15 lets Cyprus require one or more official EU languages for mandatory food information and Reg. 1223/2009 Art. 19(5) leaves the cosmetic label language to national law; the Cypriot national language rule could not be read from an official page, so Greek is not asserted here as mandatory.

No Cypriot page on nutrition and health claims could be read; claims are asserted by the food business operator named on the label under the EU framework, with no national step confirmed.
